K-Mart and I took advantage of some beautiful weather to go to the Coast and scout this summer's XC camp. Boy-howdy, what a great looking place with a ton of things to do. I'll say it now, no one will be able to top me in Foosball. Even Trent will be embarrassed with his feeble attempts to claim the crown.
We scouted a few trails and different routes to run. One trail is going up Tillamook Head (great forest and views trail) and another route is out along the beach and back along the golf course (and I'll get to tell you the "But it's ALL green!!!" story). Anyway, here are a few photos of the place, a trail we will run, and K-Mart's long lost cousin (the real country cousin) with whom he has recently reconciled.
We will start training again here in a while. I'm aiming for a mileage shirt this summer. How about you? The athletes who did the winter mileage club were in awesome shape at the start of track and stayed healthy the entire season! If you hate shin splints as much as me, getting off the couch and getting out there training all summer is the cure!
